The Monthly Mindset.
When you become a part of the community at Upper Deck, you will immediately notice that we are more than just a gym. We’re a community focused on both personal and physical development, which means we aim to address both the mind and the body in our work.
How do we do this? Well, for starters, we don’t shy away from opening up a dialogue about the connection between your physical and mental health. That is because we have decided that if we’re going to truly have a positive impact on your wellbeing, we must – as a community – address you as a whole person.
So everyone who participates in our programming also receives weekly access to exclusive, branded content tailored to address their mindset. It’s our goal to provide strategies and areas of focus for how to cope when stress, anxiety and insecurities rear their ugly head, because let’s be honest, they do.
This includes our Monthly Mindset podcast, which all clients receive at the top of each calendar month. These talks are presented Badass and Beautiful style, featuring hearty doses of tough love and perspective, with the ultimate goal being to provide a central theme for the month that our community explores together.
Then, in addition to the podcast, each week, all clients receive a corresponding Weekly Vibe in their inbox. These emails provide some food for thought and highlight ways to incorporate the Monthly Mindset into a daily routine. To that end, we also provide what we call “Dinner Table Prompts” to continue to discuss the topics at hand at home with friends and family.
And – the icing on the cake – is that the monthly mindset is incorporated into our workouts, too. The coaching staff at the U make it a priority to challenge you mentally during your sweat sessions, ensuring you’re working on your mindset both inside and outside of our doors.
If you can’t tell, we measure our success by how our work with you in our gyms affects your life outside of them. We like to refer to this concept as “fitness as a vehicle.” In other words, once you start to truly work on yourself, where will YOU go?
